KENYA Ichuga

Ichuga is one of 5 factories owned and operated by Kiama Farmer Cooperative Society, located in Nyeri region. Nyeri is derived from the Masaai word nyiro, meaning red, after the red volcanic soil in the area.

Farmers delivering to Ichuga primarily cultivate trees of SL28 and SL34 varieties in coffee gardens, on average smaller than 1 hectare. SL28 and SL34 are now the go-to trees for many growers in Kenya due to their capability of growing with little water. They are cultivated with a serious eye to sustainability and Good Agricultural Practices, with minimal environmental impact where possible.

Kenyan coffee is recognized for its high-quality, meticulous preparation and exquisite flavors.
